We’re Hiring: Executive Director to Lead Peatland Finance Ireland

Peatland Finance Ireland CLG (PFI) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Executive Director to guide the organisation through a critical stage of growth and impact. This part-time role (0.6 FTE) is ideal for a seasoned leader with a passion for climate and nature, and experience in the not-for-profit or environmental finance sectors.

PFI was established to unlock funding for high-integrity peatland restoration across Ireland. Peatlands are essential for carbon storage, biodiversity, and water quality — and we are working to ensure public and private investment flows into the projects that matter most. With the launch of the Peatland Standard for Ireland earlier this year, PFI is entering an exciting phase of delivery and influence.

The Executive Director will be responsible for day-to-day strategic and operational leadership, delivery of the 2025 Action Plan, and coordination across governance, fundraising, and programme areas. They will represent PFI externally, support a small high-impact team, and work closely with the Board of Directors.

Key details:

  • Location: Remote within Ireland (Dublin-based preferred)

  • Salary: €48,000 per year (€80,000 FTE equivalent)

  • Contract: To 31 December 2025, with review for 2026

  • Apply by: 22 August 2025

  • How to apply: Send CV and cover letter to shane@peatlandfinance.ie
